SPECIFIC POWERLINE EXPERTISE: Specialist in Powerline Communications (PLC) and a former Director of the International Powerline Communications Forum. Expert International Liaison for PLC activities worldwide, including technological assessment, standardization and regulatory issues. Ericsson Austria AG., Vienna, Austria 1992 – 2000

Management and staff positions in this Ericsson subsidiary formerly known as Schrack Telekom AG in various aspects of Telecommunications:

• Headed a department responsible for Transmission Marketing & Sales in Austria.
• Concluded business contracts in Central European States as Key Account Manager.
• Turned around a large multi-year project for public leased line applications with a major customer.
• Led Quality Management effort for the division.
• Coordinated the divisional Information Systems & Technology applications and solutions.
• Led Change Management to better integrate the local company with Ericsson.
• Specialized in Access Networks and initiated Power Line Communications programs in the company.
• Communicated with internal and external groups in the corporate responsibility of Business Development.

EIT, Florence, Italy 1991

Director of Communications. Building up the Florence site of the European Institute of Technology, for massive parallel computing applications using workstations.

AT&T, New Jersey locations 1983 - 1991

Technical Manager. Several positions with corporate scope: cost center responsibilities, business planning, R&D, organizational design, technology assessment and integration, and operations.

• Headed interdisciplinary team that successfully designed and implemented the integrated communications systems for new AT&T Corporate Headquarters at 550 Madison Avenue in New York City.
• Formed and managed Advanced Communications Resource division responsible for AT&T Corporate telecommunications, office automation, television and computer systems, serving 5000 users in 25 locations nationwide.
• Administered AT&T Corporate telecommunications budgets exceeding $20MM per year in addition to own divisional budgets.
• Initiated University of Pittsburgh, PA, Campus-of-the-Future.
• Directed strategy development and systems engineering effort for AT&T internal corporate video and teleconferencing networks.
• Devised technical strategies to position AT&T's manufacturing in Photonic areas as a world class competitor in the international arena.
• Performed strategic external technical representation of AT&T to national (NCMS) and international (EIT) industry consortia.
• Led change process and managed interdisciplinary groups for Manufacturing R&D in optics, material science and software by redirecting programs and focusing on transitions necessary for competitive advantage.

Western Electric Co., Inc. and Bell Labs Holmdel, NJ 1979 - 1982

Project Manager . Supervisory positions in Corporate Product Planning and Management in Bell Laboratories. Proposed solutions to customer applications, started required development work and led special high visibility fiber optics and video systems projects.

• Coordinated R&D personnel from five BTL laboratories in planning and building first exploratory fiber optics transmission system for broadcast television for 1980 Lake Placid, NY, Winter Olympic Games including on-site representation.
• Managed planning, design and implementation of integrated fiber optic video, voice and data transmission system for Disney's EPCOT Park in Orlando, FL.

Western Electric Co., Inc. ERC Princeton, NJ 1970 - 1978

Member of Research Staff at the Engineering Research Center, working on diagnostic measurement methods and test set automation in fiber optics and technology transfer into manufacture.

Impulsphysik GmbH., Hamburg, Germany 1965 - 1970

Assistant to Owner-Director of small company specializing in high speed pulse technology applications, for both technical and commercial aspects.

• Managed customer relations for entire scientific program. Directed firm's representatives in marketing and project negotiations in over 70 countries.

EDUCATION: Ph.D in Physics and Mathematics, University of Vienna, AUSTRIA, 1965; over 70 courses since in technical and management fields.

PROFESSIONAL: Member of APS, Senior Member IEEE

PUBLICATIONS: Over 40 papers and presentations in fields of electronic, acoustic and optical measurement, computer software, fiber optics and communications projects and systems. In recent years chaired conferences and gave presentations in Access Technologies and Power line.
